On April 6, 2004, Judge Sweet of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled that
the first published version of the book A Course in Miracles (now referred to as "the Criswell Edition") was, in 1975,
placed into the public domain. Judgment to this effect was entered on April 27, 2004. As a result, the registered
copyright protecting that version of the work (No. A693944) was rendered void.
