NOT WITHOUT BLOOD Understanding the New Covenant Sheila R. Vitale LIVING EPISTLES MINISTRIES P. O. BOX 562 PT. JEFF. STA., NY 11776-0562 U.S.A. INTERNET ADDRESS: livingem@aol.com THIS MESSAGE IS THE TRANSCRIPT OF A LIVING EPISTLES' MEETING. PUNCTUATION AND MINOR GRAMMATICAL CHANGES HAVE BEEN ADDED FOR THE PURPOSE OF CLARITY. 08/14/95 The Lord did point me to some Scriptures earlier this evening with regard to the old and New Covenant. I'd like to make some comments on the Old and New Covenant that the Lord has given me recently to clear up some misunderstandings that I, as well as everyone else, have hadI know that I was taught that the Church is under the New Covenant, and I've known for a long time that there was something wrong with this teaching. Why? Because we still die when we're promised everlasting life. So, men's carnal minds, not being able to understand how we can still die even though we're under the New Covenant, devised a fable which said, when your body dies, you go on to heaven. But I declare unto you, this is not true. Those who are walking in the New Covenant with Christ Jesus do not die to their physical flesh. Their carnal minds die. Their Christ mind is raised from the dead and the resurrection of Christ Jesus in them gives life to this physical flesh so that we receive everlasting life right here on the earth. This is the truth of Jesus' substitutionary work: The death of our carnal minds is replaced with the life of the Christ mind. My Bible says that judgment is in the flesh, that we might learn to walk after the Spirit. Those who walk after the Spirit are the Sons of God. So, another way to put it is that the Lord is calling us to become spiritual people. When we become spiritual people -- when the Spirit of Christ is prevailing in us, when that Spirit which raised Christ from the dead dwells in you, it will quicken your mortal body, which is you soul, and it's not after your body's put in the grave. Your mortality is going to be swallowed up into immortality right here in the flesh, when that Spirit which raised Christ from the dead dwells in you. Now, how do you get that Spirit in you? That Spirit which raised Christ from the dead, brethren, is in Christ Jesus. Christ Jesus must be formed in you. This is not the Holy Spirit, it is the Spirit of Christ, which is only in Christ Jesus, and is different than the Holy Spirit who leads you to Christ Jesus. Receiving the Holy Ghost, hopefully, will result in Christ Jesus being formed in you and, as Christ Jesus matures in you, that Spirit which dwells in Him will give life to your soul and preserve your physical body, and you will enter into an age abiding life, an endless life, brethren, right here on the earth. Jesus said, no man taketh my life. He said, if He didn't lay it down of His own free will, he could have lived forever. Paul said the same thing. He didn't say, it's time for me to die. He said it's time for me to be offered up. He didn't say it, but the implication of Paul was that he had ascended to a place as Jesus Christ did, where he could have lived forever! But, he was born out of season. It was not the time for man to live forever, he had a job to do. What was that job? It was the bringing forth of the doctrine of the New Testament. When his job was completed, he had to give up an existence that had the potential to continue forever. Why? Because the Father told him that that's how it had to be. He was born out of season, so he had to be taken from this world. But, we see, brethren, in this hour we are entering into the season when men will begin to live, or have already begun the process which will change our beings into a spiritual, everlasting condition which will enable us to live forever. This, brethren, is the New Covenant, everlasting life. If your walk with Jesus Christ is not producing everlasting life in you, if you still get sick, and if you're still aging, and if you're still dying, you have not entered into the New Covenant. Now, if you're getting upset with what I'm saying, you need to rebuke it because, if I'm telling you a lie, I can't hurt you. You're not saved by doctrine brethren, you're saved by union with the Son of God. He who is joined to His Spirit shall have everlasting life. If you're listening to words that aren't true, I cannot take away your relationship with Jesus Christ. On the other hand, if I am telling you the truth, Jesus said the truth shall set you free. Now, look, brethren, there's something wrong with the teaching in the Church. People are still dying! They're still getting sick, they're still experiencing defeats from Satan, something is wrong with the doctrine! We're missing a piece of information that we need, and this is the information: We're still under the Old Covenant. The Old Covenant forgives our sins and enables us to enter into a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. I remind you of the Book of Esther whereby if the king didn't hold out the scepter, the queen coming into his presence would have died. We have been granted permission to have a relationship with the King without it producing death in our life. Why would it produce death in our life? Because we're filled with sin, and when sin comes in contact with the holiness of God, sin dies. God has given us this special dispensation. He's made a covenant with us. He said, if you obey me, if you love the Lord your God with all your heart, your mind and your soul, if you love your brother as yourself and cease from fornication and from blood, I'll cover your sins and I'll let you have a relationship with me. You can walk with me, and you can talk with me, and you can get blessings from me, and you can get healed from me, and get delivered from me. But, brethren, everlasting life is not in the Old Covenant. Everlasting life is in the New Covenant. The truth of the Scripture, I declare to you is that the Old Covenant has two stages to it. The first phase of the Old Covenant is to the Jew. The second phase of the Old Covenant is to the Gentiles. We're told in Rom. 11 that the Jews stumbled so that this Covenant and this Word could go to the Gentiles. It's the same Old Covenant that was given first to the Jews than to the Greek, but not in exactly the same form. Why is that? Brethren, when I sit here and minister to you tonight, I am speaking one word but, when it falls on this lady, it's effecting her one way, and when it falls on that lady, it's effecting her another way, because God's using it one way with you, and he's using it another way with this lady. You two are not the same. So, even though my word is the same, my word is mixing with the individual, and each of you are having your own spiritual experience. The Old Covenant fell one way on the Jew and a second way on the Greek (Gentile), but it's still the Old Covenant. How do I know it's the Old Covenant? I know it's the Old Covenant because it has not produced everlasting life. It has produced a forgiveness of sins that is inferior to everlasting life. I suggest to you that, in this hour, the Lord is declaring to all of His people, Jews and Gentiles alike, it is time to enter into the New Covenant. But one cannot enter into the sanctuary which is in the heavenlies without blood. Brethren the blood that you must enter in with is the glorified, spiritual blood of the Lord Jesus Christ but, despite everything that you've been taught, the blood which is shed must be the blood of your own carnal mind. You have an inheritance in heavenly places. That inheritance is in Christ Jesus, but you cannot enter into and appropriate that inheritance until you die. It's been preached backwards to you, brethren. The death of the Lord Jesus Christ made everlasting life available to you, but for you to appropriate it, for it to start manifesting in your life, for it to become real to you, this new life which is in Christ Jesus must replace, must swallow up, your existing life. Your carnal mind must die. Your own carnal mind is the fulfillment of the bulls and goats which were sacrificed under the Old Covenant. It is the beast that must be offered up so that the promises which are in Christ Jesus can be implemented in your life. Yes, He entered in by His blood. He entered in by his resurrected, spiritual blood, but the blood which is shed is the beast's blood, your beast's blood. The animal sacrifices of the Levitical law do not typify the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus. They do typify the sacrifice of your own beast nature. The Lord Jesus Christ was physically crucified so that men would believe. The Lord Jesus Christ crucified his own carnal mind that he was born with, but the actual crucifixion of the physical man, Jesus, did not fulfill the type of the blood of bulls and goats. The fulfillment of that Levitical type of bulls and goats is your own carnal mind and, if you think I don't know what I'm talking about, I ask you if, in fact, the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ was the fulfillment of the Old Testament type of the blood of bulls and goats, why was the Lord Jesus Christ crucified and not boiled and roasted? The sacrifice, brethren, which is being boiled by the very Christ Himself, is your own unconscious mind, and that sacrifice which is being roasted in the Lake of Fire is your very own carnal mind. We have an inconsistency. All you Pharisees who haven't shut the tape off yet, I challenge you to explain to me why, if the Lord Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the Levitical sacrifice, He was not boiled and roasted? Oh, my goodness, I hear them screaming in the heavenlies. Well, stop screaming my beloved brother and answer the question. I await your answer. The crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ converted Him into a form whereby His sinless life can be reproduced in us, and when his sinless life is reproduced in us, that sinless life of Christ Jesus sacrifices our carnal mind up to the Father. He boils it and he roasts it, and when it is completely dead and consumed by the high priest which is Christ Jesus Himself, you shall be raised from the dead and enter into the life of the ages -- which is the New Covenant. Now, Jesus said to the Pharisees, I'll tell you the truth and the truth will set you free, and the Pharisees said, what truth could you possibly have to tell us, we are the seed of Abraham. This is the truth I have to tell you, all you Pharisees. You are not saved, you are still in the Old Covenant, you're carnal, fallen men, you're dead men's bones, dead in your sins, you're as filthy as you were when you first started out. Your righteousness is as filthy rags. You need to repent and have the dead Christ in you crucified so that He might arise in you in the fullness of the strength of Christ Jesus, the three fold cord who will offer your own carnal mind up to the Father as an everlasting sacrifice which will bring you into everlasting life. You can scream and you can yell and you can deny it all you like, but the hour is at hand for the New Covenant to be implemented, and the Father will take whomsoever He desires to take, with your consent, or without your consent. Jesus! Prophesy yea, saith the lord, it is the hour for righteousness to appear in the earth. I shall stand once again, saith the lord, in the fullness of my life, and I shall be exalted, and I shall be glorified in my people, and they shall judge the earth, saith the lord. They shall ascend unto mt. Zion, and from there shall go forth the law, and from jerusalem the word, saith your god. And I shall be exalted, and every knee shall bow and every tongue confess and shall show my greatness, saith the lord, and I shall bring into submission the most wicked of men saith god, even the workers of witchcraft. I warn you, saith the lord, against pharasitical attitudes. Any one of my sons who criticize me is in danger of losing their salvation. Put your eyes upon yourself and do not blaspheme against who you will see coming into the kingdom in these next days, saith the lord, for you will be surprised at who I will bring in from the highways and the byways. Exalt not yourself saith the lord, knowing that you are not saved and that you are in as great danger as anyone else of being separated from me. Humble yourself and confess your sins and forgive one another, saith the lord, and reconcile; be merciful to one another and fight the good fight of faith, for I will permit great hostility to come against you in these last days, saith the lord, for this is the way that you will ascend. As you overcome, you shall ascend, and the stronger you get, the stronger the resistance I shall send against you. War shall rage everywhere saith the lord. There shall be wars and rumors of wars, and you shall war in your sleep and there shall be bloodshed and grief on every side saith the lord, but my son and the great dragon and his angels shall fight, saith the lord, and michael shall fight, and my sons, and they shall prevail over the dragon, saith the lord, and I shall stand upon the earth, and my mercy shall be manifested to humanity. We enter in because of His life, which is in Christ Jesus. Whether or not you shed the blood of your carnal mind, you can't get into the everlasting tabernacle unless you have Christ Jesus. Why? Because He is the everlasting tabernacle. Right? If you don't have the Kingdom of God, if you're not born a-gain, you see, you won't see the Kingdom of God, because you can't see it if it's not in you. You can't get into it if it's not inside of you! So, you can't enter in without his resurrected, sinless, spiritual blood, which is the very Kingdom of God, but the blood sacrifice, the shed blood that gets you into the everlasting tabernacle which is your inheritance, is the shed blood of your own dead, carnal mind. The blood of our carnal mind is shed so that we can die to every sinful thing that is in our flesh and enter into the life of His sinless spiritual blood. Our fallen blood is being shed, killed, so that we can take on the new blood. So we see that this is a great mystery --it's really two different kinds of blood that we're talking about. This is what I ran inside to look up if you saw me get up and leave earlier. I went to look at Hebrews 9:13 in the Interlinear text. Heb. 9:13. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: Heb. 9:14. How much more shall the blood of [the] Christ [according to the Greek this is referring to the Lord Jesus Christ], who through the everlasting Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? How much more shall the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ who, through the everlasting Spirit, offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? Now listen to what this is saying. How much more shall the blood of Jesus who was Christ . . . . Brethren, the red blood that was shed, that was poured on the ground at Calvary, is not doing anything for you. We're talking about the blood of His glorified life. His fallen blood, which He inherited from His mother, is not getting you into the Kingdom. The resurrected, spiritual blood of His Father is getting you into the Kingdom, and that resurrected blood in this hour is in the form of the Holy Spirit. Now follow me with this. How much more shall the blood of the resurrected Christ who, through the everlasting Spirit (that's the Spirit of Christ), offered himself without spot to God. Now, what that means is that the blood of the Christ mind in the man Jesus purified the man Jesus from sin. Listen, let me show it to you again. The blood of Jesus, the Christ, who through the everlasting Spirit, not through the Holy Spirit, brethren, but through the Spirit of Christ -- if that Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you, it will quicken or, make alive, your mortal body, that is, your soul. Why is your mortal body (soul) not quickened? Because, the Scripture is not talking about the Holy Spirit! It's talking about the Spirit of Christ or, the everlasting Spirit. So, we see that the blood of Christ who, through the Spirit of Christ, offered himself. Who is himself brethren? The resurrected Christ in the man, Jesus, offered up as a sacrifice His own humanity and, in the form of Christ Jesus in you, is offering up your own humanity. What form does your humanity take? It's your carnal mind. Can you hear it? Listen, let's do it again. How much more shall the blood of Christ -- the resurrected spiritual life of Christ -- the blood of Christ through the everlasting Spirit, offer himself -- or offer His humanity -- without spot. The resurrected Christ that was in the man, Jesus, purified his humanity from sin. It was His purified humanity that was offered unto God. We see that Christ Jesus in us is purifying us from sin. We are being purified from sin, and as Christ Jesus increases in us, our sins will continue to be exposed. Now listen, brethren, you can't be purified from sin until your sin is exposed. We've been talking here over and over again about how the true forgiveness of sins is the ripping out of the potential for sin. If the forgiveness of sins is merely the forgiveness of an act or a thought, you might as well go to the Roman Catholic Church. The true forgiveness of sins is the wiping out, the obliteration, of the potential to sin, because the Scripture clearly states that we have a sin nature and that we are dead because of that sin nature. That's just another way of saying, we are dead because of our potential to sin. Therefore, the true forgiveness of sins is the blotting out of the potential for sin, which is the very sin nature. So, we see that Jesus of Nazereth, who was Christ, by the Spirit of Christ, purified Himself from sin (Rom. 1:4). Christ Jesus in him ripped out the potential for sin and, when He overcame the potential for sin, He then sacrificed Himself or, His purified humanity. That which was left of his carnal mind, He now sacrificed without spot unto the Father. We're going along the same path. Our sins are being exposed and being ripped out, this is the purifying. He who hath this hope, brethren, of the resurrection of the dead, purifieth himself. If you are truly experiencing the Judgment Seat of Christ, you are being purified. Christ Jesus in you is purifying you and bringing you into submission to the Spirit of Holiness. And when your sins are wiped out, Christ Jesus in you shall offer your carnal mind as a spotless sin offering unto the everlasting Spirit -- if you can hear it. Verse 14, Chapter 9, of the Book of Hebrews says, How much more shall the blood of the Christ, who through the everlasting Spirit offered himself without spot to God -- how much more will that blood which now is in the form of the Holy Spirit unto to us, purge your conscience from dead works? The question is, if the blood of bulls and goats sanctifieth and purifieth your flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ Jesus sanctify and purify your conscience? The Greek word translated conscience means mind. We're talking about the purifying of the mind. The Old Covenant purifies your flesh. It empowers you to cease from behavioral and verbal sin. The New Covenant empowers you to cease from a condition of mind which we identify as potential for sin. So we're told in the Book of Hebrews that it's the resurrected blood of Jesus, the Christ, that has the power to purge us from the potential for sin. The question is, how does the resurrected blood of Jesus who was Christ do this? I suggest to you that the way that the resurrected blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is the Holy Spirit, does this is by engrafting to your human spirit and giving you His very own sinless mind, which will then raise the dead Christ in you back up into life. Join with Him and begin to purify the potential for sin in yourself. Can you hear it? Let me say it again. The way the glorified life of the Lord Jesus Christ purges your conscience, or your mind, from sin is by engrafting Himself to your human spirit and forming Christ Jesus in you, which Christ Jesus, as he begins to mature, will judge your sin-filled soul and purify you from the potential for sin. In that hour, when Christ Jesus completely brings your soul into submission to the Spirit of Holiness which is in Christ Jesus --which has been formed in you because Jesus Christ has engrafted to your human spirit -- in the hour that He purges your carnal mind from sin, He will offer that carnal mind up as a sacrifice without spot to the Father -- your carnal mind. How will Christ Jesus purify your carnal mind to the point that your soul will be without sin? There's only one way brethren, Christ Jesus in you must tear your carnal mind to pieces. Your carnal mind is burning up in the Lake of Fire. The elements are melting and they're coming down with a crash. Your soul will be purged from sin when your carnal mind breaks up in the fire and separates into soul and spirit. Then, the spirit will be divided, Eve, your human spirit, will be divided from Satan. Your soul is purified at the point that your whole soul goes into the fire of Christ and becomes the burning bush which is not consumed. Jesus! Heb. 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the New Testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of everlasting inheritance. That by means of death . . . . There are three Greek words translated death, brethren. This Greek word is thanatos, which means either violent death, or the death which results from the separation of the soul from the spirit. I suggest to you that this Scripture -- it's hidden, you have to pray about it, I don't deny that it's hidden, but the death that's required that will bring you into the New Covenant is the separation of soul from spirit. I declare to you with all the humility that I can muster, as I sit here half slain in the Spirit, that the soul that must separate from the spirit, is your soul which is ruled by Satan, and your human spirit. Can you hear what I'm saying? Let me read it to you again. Verse 9:15, and for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were made . . . . While you were already under the Old Covenant, you were still in sin. Do you hear this? That those who were sitting while they were under the Old Covenant might receive the promise of an everlasting inheritance, and it's by death. The death that's going to let those of us who are under the Old Covenant --forgiven but still dying -- the only way that we're entering into the New Covenant which is everlasting life, is by death, and the Greek word death here is the separation of soul from spirit. So you see, we're not entering in by the death of Jesus on the cross. How can I say that? When Jesus died on the cross, his soul didn't separate from his spirit. If you remember the teaching, when Jesus was crucified on the cross, the Father looked down at his soul and saw that it was sinless and, therefore, decided that the soul didn't have to separate from the Spirit. Now the Spirit of Christ which was in the man, Jesus, is the very Father who had the power to save his soul. That's how Jesus got raised from the dead. The Father, the Spirit of Christ, was in Jesus, so when Jesus' physical body was crucified, the Spirit of Christ took over and kept His soul alive. You see, when a man is crucified or killed in any way, if the spirit in him is the spirit which is in fallen man, when the physical body is killed, the spirit has no power to keep the soul alive. But because the spirit in the man, Jesus, was the Spirit of Christ, the Father, when men killed his external flesh, his soul was kept alive by the power of the Spirit in the man, Jesus. Do you know what I'm talking about? So, here we read that you enter into the New Covenant only by death, thanatos, the separation of your soul from your spirit. It can't be talking about Jesus' death. Jesus' soul didn't separate from his Spirit. It's your soul that has to separate from your human spirit and, when your soul separates from your spirit, you'll enter into the New Covenant. How do you do that brethren? When your soul (carnal mind) separates from your spirit (Eve joined to Satan) and then Eve is separated from Satan, Eve is going to marry the mediator of the New Covenant, and forever you shall be with the Lord. That's how you get into the New Covenant which gives you everlasting life. First your soul has to separate from your spirit (Eve and Satan), then the joints (bones, i.e., hard part --male, i.e., Satan) from the marrow (fat, i.e., soft part -- female, i.e., human spirit); and then your human spirit has to marry Christ Jesus, and that's how you get everlasting life. It's by your death brethren. NOW, NOT YOUR PHYSICAL DEATH, anybody who's hearing this tape. YOUR CARNAL MIND MUST DIE for YOU to enter into the New Covenant. And the Lord has ordained that the way your carnal mind is dying, is that your sins have to be exposed. You have to do it His way. You can't do it your own way. You won't enter in unless you do it His way. ____________________________ 1. What happens to our physical bodies if we walk under the New Covenant with Christ? (A) The resurrection of Christ Jesus gives everlasting life right here in the flesh, and our bodies are preserved. 2. What does the resurrection of Christ mean? (A) It means the resurrection of the Christ mind whose death caused the Fall of Adam. The whole creation died, and the Christ who was the mind of that living creation, became the human spirit of the dead creation. Just as Jesus of Nazareth was raised from the dead in a greater form -- He shed His human body and became spirit -- the dead Christ in the individual shall be raised in the greater, or more mature, form of Christ Jesus. Christ Jesus is a completed mind which can never die again (Rom. 6:9). 3. Why is judgment in the flesh? (A) So that we may learn to walk after the Spirit (1 Pet. 4;6). 4. When will our mortal bodies (souls) be quickened (made alive)? (A) After Christ Jesus is rais-ed from the dead in us (1 Cor. 15:4) (See, The Christ, Tape # 186 - Part 8, Tape 2). 5. Does the quickening (coming to life) of your mortal body (soul) happen before or after your physical body is put in the grave? (A) Before. Your mortality (carnal mind) will be swallowed up into immortality (Christ Jesus). 6. Which Spirit raised Christ from the dead? (A) The Spirit of Christ, the Father. 7. Whose function is it to lead you to Christ? (A) The Holy Spirit. 8. Name one purpose for receiving the Holy Spirit. (A) So that He will engraft to your human spirit and form Christ in you (James 1:21). 9. What is the result of Christ maturing in us (1 Cor. 13:11; Eph. 4:13)? (A) Our souls will be made alive, our bodies preserved, and we will live forever on earth. 10. Did Paul say it was time to die? (A) No, he said it was time to be offered (2 Tim. 4:6). 11. What was Paul's job? (A) To bring forth the Doctrine of Christ. 12. How do we know that we haven't entered into the New Covenant? (A) We still get sick, age and die. 13. Are we saved by doctrine? (A) No. We are saved by union with the Son of God, Christ Jesus, the whole New Man. 14. What is the Old Covenant? (A) It's the forgiveness of sins, by faith, which enables us to enter into a relationship with the Father. 15. What is the New Covenant? (A) Sinlessness, which results in everlasting life (Micah 7:19; Heb. 7:16). 16. What are the two phases of the Old Covenant? (A) The first phase is to the Jew, second phase is to the Gentiles (Rom. 1:16; 2:10). 17. How were the Gentiles able to enter into God's covenant? (A) In Romans 11, we're told that the Jews stumbled so that this covenant and this Word could go to the Gentiles. 18. What does it take to enter into the sanctuary which is in the hea- venlies? (A) Blood. 19. Whose blood must you enter in by? (A) The spiritual blood of the Lord Jesus Christ (Heb. 13:12). 20. Whose blood must be shed? (A) The blood of our own carnal mind (Col. 1:20; Heb. 12:4). 21. What is our inheritance and how can we enter in and appropriate it? (A) Christ Jesus is our inheritance. We enter into the heavenly sanctuary and appropriate His life when we die to our humanity, that is, our carnal mind must die. 22. What does the sacrifice of the Old Testament under the Levitical law typify? (A) The bulls and goats that were sacrificed typify the human beast (Rev. 13:12), the carnal mind. It's our own carnal mind that must be sacrificed. 23. Didn't Jesus enter in by his blood? (A) Christ Jesus in the man, Jesus of Nazareth, is the heavenly sanctuary. Jesus, the man, entered into that heavenly sanctuary by sacrificing, or purifying His own humanity (carnal mind) that He inherited from His mother (Col. 1:20). 24. Does the animal sacrifice of the Levitical law typify the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ? (A) No. It typifies the sacrifice of the human beast, the carnal mind (Rev. 13:12). Jesus' crucifixion, the sacrifice He made for humanity, was that He gave up His existence as Jesus of Nazareth. He could have lived forever, but He gave up His soul life as the man, Jesus, so that He could be raised to a higher form, that is, spirit, and pour out of that Spirit upon all flesh. 25. What Does it typify? (A) The methods of the Levitical sacrifices (boiling and roasting) typify the Lake of Fire, which isChrist Jesus in the individual. Man's unconscious mind is typified by the sea and his conscious mind is typified by the beast. The sea will be evaporated when the Lake of Fire brings the waters to a boil, and the beast will be roasted in the Lake of Fire and eaten by the high priest, Christ Jesus. 26. What form did the Lord Jesus Christ convert into when he was sacrificed? (A) He was converted into spirit, a form whereby his sinless life can be reproduced in us. He became the spiritual seed (Jn. 12:24) which will raise Christ from the dead in the individual, and save fallen humanity from hell and death. 27. What happens when the Lord Jesus Christ's sinless life is reproduced in us? (A) The sinless life of Christ Jesus sacrifices our carnal mind up to the Father. 28. The sacrifices of the Levitical law were consumed by the high priest, what does this typify? (A) Christ Jesus' consumption of the carnal mind (Rev. 3:16) typifies the reconciliation, or reunion, of the divided creation into one creation under the authority of Christ Jesus. 29. When shall we be raised from the dead? (A) When Christ Jesus, our high priest, consumes our completely purified carnal mind (1 Cor. 6:17), we shall be raised from the dead and enter into the life of ages, which is the New Covenant. THE OLD MAN Satan is our unconscious mind, and the carnal mind is our conscious mind. The two parts of our fallen mind make up one whole old man who is called the Devil. The Devil is the old man that is passing away. THE NEW MAN The Spirit of Christ is our unconscious mind, and the mind of Christ is our conscious mind. The two parts of our new mind make up one whole new man who is called Christ Jesus. Christ Jesus is the new man who is being born in us. Sheila R. Vitale LIVING EPISTLES MINISTRIES P. O. BOX 562 PT.
