Melissa, First, I gotta say that this is my opinion, OK? But, have you noticed that just about everywhere one turns today, you see the phrase "Body, Mind, and Spirit"? I feel that the three MUST work together. In other words, any physical complaint, the body, can be treated by a physician. But that complaint will take longer to heal without the idea that the person WANTS to feel better. In other words, the mind must be in the "proper" focus. If the mind is not in the "proper" focus, then the person is not thinking straight, and their personal Spirituality suffers. Or if a person is depressed, they may not realize it for a long time. Without treatment of some kind the person may try suicide. Then, the Body and the Mind is suffering. Plus, even without suicide, the body may be suffering from a chemical imbalance of "emotional" substances such as serotonin, and possibly associated "B" vitamins. Then, especially if suicide is tried, then that person's Spirituality is hurting. I think that the vast, vast majority of people believe in the sanctity of Life, whether or not they are members of an "organized religion", denomination or sect. MF>(From what I've read lately, I'm sorely =tempted= (key word there!) to switc >from mainstream medicine over to some sort of witchdoctor!) :) MF>Comments? You got a mouthful above. :) But, I will never recommend switching from traditional medicine to something that would be considered "alternative" by the Office of Alternative Medicine of the NIH. I'm not saying physicians are perfect, OK, but sometimes the "alternative" approach works against or perhaps "counters" conventional medicine. I think that by working with practitioners of both traditional and alternative medicine you may be happiest and get the best results. MF>I just got a freebie/ad for Women's Health entitled Toxic Emotions: Healing >the Symptoms They Cause... MF>More comments? It never hurts to learn something new. And, even though I am happily married, hold an advanced degree etc., when it comes to the health of any woman, I try to back away. :) There are things dealing with the Body, Mind and Spirit, particularly in women, that I will never truly understand. (Hormone changes and stuff) Remember what I said about the Body, Mind, and Spirit connection? And like I said before, this is only my opinion, but I think that before you make any "radical" change, you should try to understand yourself, and understand your feelings when you consider of all three, and how they are working together, or lack of it.
