LA> I'd like to start raising herbs, but don't have a lot LA> of outdoor space. Which herbs would do particularly well Have you considered Container Gardening? I do that mostly. I have a rosemary (well, two actually) in a planter and it is doing fine so far. I had really good luck with Basil last year. LA> I'd also like to know the process for making incenses, oils and LA> bath salts. Can anyone help with this? Thanks. Liz You might want to check out Patricia Telesco's _The Victorian Grimoire_ published by Llewellyn. I enjoyed it....but I really liked the Victorian era. She talks about oils and salts. For incense making, the book I have found to be the most useful is by Steven R. Smith, _Wylundt's Book of Incense_. Here is a recipe for an incense that I have made and liked. You are welcome to try it. And, like any recipe, alter it to suit your needs! ********************************************************************* * Dark Lady Dreams * * * * Cinnamon 1/2 palm * * Allspice 3 seeds * * Fennel 1 pinch * * Rosemary 2 pinches * * Mullein 1 1/2 palms * * Mugwort 1 1/2 palms * * Witchhazel 1 palm * * Dittany of Crete 1/2 palm * * Cedar one pinch * * Benzoin gum two pinches * * Hyacinth Oil 6 drops * * Cinnamon Oil 6 drops * * Saltpeter two pinches * * * ********************************************************************* Note: I have been told and I have read that Benzoin can cause a slight allergic reaction....I have never had any problems with it. ___ X Lapidary...where it's at!
