Message #906 - THE_HERBALIST Date: 12-11-95 11:42 From: Morgan To: Pearl Subject: eczema ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- @MSGID: 93:9040/13 ad0e7c64 P> Greetings, all..got a question. My 5 year old son Damon has an P> ongoing eczema problem. He gets patches of it all over his arms, P> torso and lower legs. The pediatrician's solution P> P> was to prescribe hydrocortisone cream 2.5%...okay, yes, this does P> work...but I dislike having to use this every time, ALL the time... P> P> Does anyone have any herbal remedies suitable for children? I've P> heard something about Tea Tree being good for this..anyone know? Pearl...my nephew has a similar problem. (You aren't by any chance a Gulf War vet or married to one?) The two things we've found helpful are evening primrose oil (you can break open a capsule and apply it directly to the eczema, but he should also take them internally, adjusting the dosage on the bottle to his weight) and a salve made of equal parts St. John's wort flowers, calendula flowers, and comfrey leaves.
