       The I Ching will not tell us the future because the future is
       forever uncertain. It is a realistic oracle that presents us with
       lines of action that we may follow. The I Ching gives us what we
       will call a 'forking prophecy.' This is...it tells us the current
       situation, and it gives us a branch or potential course of action or
       non-action to take. If we follow this branch, then the prophecy
       predicated will then come into fruition. That is to say the I Ching
       requires an active approach to life. If someone inquires to the I
       Ching and is told that they will win money if they take a trip to
       the southwest, and they go ahead and take a trip to the northeast,
       then they will not win money and the prophecy will be lost and
       forgotten. As students of the I Ching we must know that the future
       is uncertain and that we must take an active role in shaping our own
       destiny, lest we allow another to do this for us.

       All this thus said, we must keep the following information in mind
       when forming an inquiry: We should not ask the I Ching "Does he love
       me?" or "Will I get this job?" These questions can never be
       accurately answered because the future is simply uncertain. If you

       Ching with a stated goal. Something that we wish to achieve. So

       asking "Will I get this job?" , we should ask "What is the best
       approach to maximize my potential of getting this job?"
       Alternatively, if we are stuck in just a generally confusing
       situation, we can inquire unto the I Ching to gain clarity and weigh
       our potential options of loss and gain. There are two types of
       people who reside upon the Earth. Those who the world happens to and
       those who happen to the world. The I Ching is for those who wish to
