PRANAYAMA INTRODUCTION PRANAY00.TXT ************************************************************************ Breathing --------- Breath is life. A major tool for psychic/spiritual development is breath control. Most people in western culture breathe with shallow breaths expanding and contracting the chest. This type of breathing does not fill the lungs. Breathing from the diapham fully fills the lungs. [almost all little children breath like this.] A diapham breath supplies the body with about seven times the amount of oxygen than a chest breath does. An increase of oxygen to the body increases the mental I Q, the strength of the bodies immune system, awareness and the amount of psychic power available to be used. The breath is fully meshed with/connected to one's emotions. As a person's emotions change, the way a person is breathing changes. When one's breathing changes, one's emotions change. When one has learned how one breathes and how to control the breathing, one has control over the emotions. One then has choice in just experiencing the emotions, allowing them to happen as they will, or to change/control them, if that is appropriate in a given situation. Few westerners are not aware that humans breathe only through one nostril at a time, most of the time. That is most of the air breathed in and out of the lungs enters and leaves from one nostril. Which nostril is active changes at different times during the day/night. Which nostril the breath is moving through changes about every one and one half hour during the day. If you are mainly breathing through the left nostril and you lay down on your left side, your breathing will switch to the right nostril in about fifteen minutes. When you are breathing with the right nostril the human system can channel and or create/move more psychic energy. Many who attempt to heal / move energy / do rituals or /spells have them fail because they are breathing through the left nostril. Breathing through the right nostril makes more psychic energy available to a practitioner when doing healing, rituals or "magik".
