     First, a brief history of The Ring.  It started in the year 1642, when a
group of men and women decided that the Roman Catholic Church had gained too
much power.  Because of the way protestants were treated, they decided to form
a secret society.  Disillusioned in the church, they had lost faith in the
christian God, and dedicated themselves to exploring other powers.  At that
time, heretics were hung and witches burned, so they held their rituals at
night, in the woods.  They decided to follow the way of the Pagan Druids,
learning the powers of the earth through experimentation.
     After a time, their power became so great that the keys to the mind
became theirs to use.  Channeling the energies of earth, air, water, wood,
and fire, The Ring of Shadow quickly became one of the most powerful forces
in the occult field.  Tradition dictates that the society remain secret, but
as times change, we feel the need to change too.
     So you know,The Ring of Shadow does not believe in torturing, maiming or
killing animals, in fact, one of our members is a chairwoman for the Vancouver
SPCA.  For reasons of privacy, members rarely meet face to face.  We hold
meetings six times a year, the two most important at the summer and winter
solstice's.
     It is not necessary to worship Satan, it's personal preference.  It just
seems that the people with a real knack for the Art do not worship God in the
Christian sense.  Basically, we channel the earth's energies, combine them
with the powers of the mind, and the result is power.
