WILL POWER ---------------------------- One of the greatest problems with many teachings in this age is that they tell you to 'will' it, and tell you your power comes from your 'will', yet for such a vital function of magick, there is little truth provided. I will now share with you some information that will no doubt prove very valuable to your future works and studies. * Will power is not concentration. Will power has nothing to do with the divine forces of the soul and Divine Mind. * For some years there has been a common belief that by concentrating on the 'solar plexis', marvelous physical and mental results are obtained. The solar plexis is one of several important divine centers of the INNER SELF and concentration on this center alone produced very limited results. Another wrong belief is that by simply thinking about what one wants and concentrating with will power, the desired thing will be brought about. To associate 'will power' with concentration in this way depicts a lack of understanding of the very fundimental principles that govern the use of will power and concentration. It must be realized that the moment will power is put behind the practice of concentration that moment one interferes with any success resulting from the practice. If there is any one mental of psychological condition necessary to the correct practice of metaphysical concentration it is that of passivity. Will power has nothing to do with the use of the inner, psychic, or divine forces of the soul and Divine Mind. -Will power is purely a physiological power of the outer man and the outer mind, it is determination, bulldoggedness, or stubborness-. The most contented and successful beings on this earth plane are those who accomplish their results and bring their desires without being slaves to the use of thier will power. Usually, will power is the result of conclusions arrived at by the reasoning of the objective, outter mind and mentality; and the conclusions whether right or wrong, true or false, reasonable or unreas- onable, from the universal truth standard, are adhered to by the stubbor- ness of the person's outer character. This they call "WILL POWER" ** The real master is one who does not use the will power, but the creative power of the inner, divine self, to bring about the things s/he desires. (regardless of any of the weaknesses of the flesh or any tend- encies or habits that would nullify his progress) Will power is not necessarity the use of any form of the power of con- centration. On the other hand, concentration is not merely the focaliza- tion of attention. True, you can concentrate your physical faculties (hearing, seeing, etc.) in the dictionary sence by directing them exclus- ively toward one point, one idea, or one principle. But in the metaphysi- cal sense the art of concentration is more than this. One may concentrate the thoughts of the outter mind and brain upon the personality, character, or likeness of another person at a distant point, and do this for hours at a time, without causing that person to feel any impression or recieve any communication. Real concentration does not consist of focalizing any of the outer facilities at all. ** If any part of out outer nature is to pass from us to another person, or an inatimate thing wich we wish to affect, it must be done through passing from the Inner Self to the spiritual or psychic nature of the other. For real concentration, the Inner Self must become possessed with the thought or idea, and live it, sense it in every way, seeing it and feeling it with all the living vitality and life vibrations that a thing alive could possibly have. There is no way which the outer, objective, mortal nature of man can transmit any of itself, physically, to the outer objective nature or being of another human or member of the animal kingdom. The outer part of man is of the material world and is affected by the limitations of the material world. It is held within certain bounds by the worldly conceptions and restrictions of time and space, 'chained to the material world'. On the other hand, the Inner Self of man can pass through all of the limitations of material matter and simply ride over and ignore the worldly limitations of time and space. Whatever thoughts we may wish to send to a distant place or to another element of earthly existace must first be transmitted into the spiritual essence of the Inner Self and then passed in an invisible form to the person or thing or place desired. ** Concentration is the transmutation, or the changing, of the mortal, material things of the being of man into the immortal, invisible, spirit- ual essence, thence directed through a focalizing channel to the point or place desired. There must be a RELEASING of the desire and the thoughts from the outer self to the Inner Self in order that the experiment may be carried on efficiently. Anxiously will the experiment to be a success holds the thought itself in the grasp of the pyhysical limitations of the outer self. One minute of deep and profound concentration upon one perfected idea, establishes it in the Divine Mind. Hours of further concentration cannot add to that establishment one iota. EXPERIMENT: During the upcoming week, at every opportunity to be quiet and passive for a few moments, take some thought or idea you wish to have carried out in your life affairs and, first of all, visualize it. Thus having a definite idea of it and giving it a moment's thought in a purely physical, mental way, dismiss it from your outer consciousness with the thought that you will no longer give it any consideration but permit it to become a thought of the Inner Self. Therefore it will require no further concentration or energizing on the part of your physical self. i.e: Take some concept or idea, visualize it for a moment, then dismiss it from your outer conciousness and permit it to become a thought of the Inner Self. eg.- sit down and become passive for a moment; visualize the person you want to reach, mentally say your message 3 times, then dismiss the matter with the conviction the message is on its way. Then go about your normal routine. By dismissing the thought from your mind in this way, the Inner Self has an opportunity to work with it and carry it out, and you will find that if your message goes through to the other person, it will reach hir at a time after you have thus abandoned the concentration on the part of your outer self. EXPERIMENT: The same process hold true when attempting to concentrate for the purpose of securing information from the Cosmic Mind or from the Inner Mind. Process - Sit passive for a moment or two while concentrating the outer mind on the problem and desire for the solution, or the answer to the perplexing question. Having thus visualized the problem and the desire for some information, you should at once dismiss the entire matter and cease concentration. You thus permit the whole matter to transfer itself from the outer mind and consciousness to the inner consciousness. Then go about your affairs with no anxiety and NO USE OF THE WILL POWER in trying to force an answer or an inspiration. Note that some time later there will suddenly come to your consciousness, as from an inspired source, a message or an intuitive impression that will be the answer you have been seeking. This answer or impression will not come while you sit in deep concentration on the answer you desire. Such outer concentration merely keeps the outer self active and prevents the Inner Self from becoming attuned and carrying on the translaton of the impression it is recieving. -- Merkava you are welcome
