Message #1328 - TAROT Date: 09-15-96 13:58 From: Hogarth To: Merry Subject: Random images ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- @MSGID: 93:9082/0.0 212f6f4b @TID: DBSMail 2.00e Since you've come to the Tarot pod forum, and from the structure of your sentences, indicate you are also beginning an investigation of the Tarot, I have some information to share regarding them: The Tarot utilize the same type of mental energies to activate them, so to speak, that the various global and ancient organized religions use, though the Tibetan Buddhists come the closest to being active dreamers and spiritualists and being more conscious of the processes that is consistent with divination in its various forms. Tuesday Lobsang Rampa's Cave of the Ancients is a fun book to read and very illuminating when it comes to a people who consider it completely normal to have precognative dreams and visions, as well as seeing ghosts on a regular basis. They have books that are three feet long and one foot tall, very heavy books with carved wooden covers, that are required reading for their Cheelas or child monks. Mr. Rampa stated the Tibetans came into conflict with the Asian Chinese government for refusing to reveal their methods as to how to accomplish precognition and seeing auras, that to do so would give total power to the wrong people who would misuse it, and that they would have to resist as a people. These Buddhist people are reincarnates, similar in belief to the Australian aborigine with their Power of the Dream Time, the latter having between 40 and 70,000 years of unbroken culture, these figures varying in estimate by commenting anthropologists. The methods of the Yaqui Brujo Sorcerer Don Juan in his teachings to his apprentice Carlos Castaneda are also similar, save that the Brujos do not take volunteers, as volunteers have their own purposes in life and will not accomidate the necessary internal changes required of apprentices. The Brujo's seek apprentices based on omens and portents provided for them by Intent. They practice three levels of Attention, shifts in perception accomplished by moving the assemblage point around on their luminous shells or eggs. People who read the Tarot for any length of time begin in the First Attention, which is standard waking awareness, and then shift somewhat into the Second Attention, which has two faces; the Light Face and the Dark Face. The Dark Face of the Second Attention is the easy path to power, and is therefore corrupting as a result. The Light Face of the Second Attention is the hard aspect of a perceptual shift that is very difficult to attain and master, and takes years to accomplish. People of the Western world, the Western conscious awareness, are profoundly affected by traditional instruction that comes from both science and religion, and as a result, often see only the outsidedness of things, how things appear in life, as in objects and people, who appear to maintain consistent shapes over time. This illusion of permanence comes from the Internal Dialogue, the constant describing of what things are. The paradox of the sorcerer is this confounding steady state appearance of the world, yet the world changes with new internal descriptions, and can be made to collapse when all descriptions are quieted. Quiet internal knowledge appears with this Power of Internal Silence; we know things without knowing how we know them, by what might be termed spontaneous arising inner impulses, what the ladies often refer to as Intuition. In the Western description of male and female, certain aspects of conscious awareness are denoted for each gender. These cultural and social 'describing in action' limits what males can often perform when it comes to what is deemed a feminine power, as with intuition again. The Lovers card indicates this relation, where the male figure looks to the female figure, who then looks upward into heaven, from which she draws down her intuitive, psychic abilities or powers. Yet, in the Dao, or sometimes spoken Tao, both aspects of male and female are contained in each person, and the androgenous appearance of the Fool indicates that the Soul has a Dual Nature, both masculine and feminine. Strong women and gentle men are the result of reincarnating gender roles, in which the soul takes on both forms in order to gain an understanding of what the challenges and problems of both sexes entail. In the Lovers card, the subconscious is viewed as feminine, and this gentle 'letting go' of prediscriptions and describing, an aspect of science as it developed as a method of objective observation, which then has had historically male qualities, qualities of acting directly within life and nature with temporal power and control as the goal, is challenged by the feminine hidden roots of awareness, also seen in Gnosticism with a female creator deity being silent and in the background with a powerful and revengeful male deity in the forefront, the champion of a people who faltered in warfare and were enslaved. Gnostic text uncovered at Nag Hammadi, in Egypt if memory serves, gives the 'forbidden' writings tossed out of the Bible in the early days of Christianity, and herein are displayed the seperations between the intuitive and predictive feminine subconscious, which then became forbidden, and the controlling and temporal power seeking male conscious awareness, that was then extolled and supported. The artificial perceptory divisions begun with the firming up of Church canon opened the doorways to modern scientific thought, which fell into the Dark Face of the Second Attention, without readily going there and knowing it, and this outside investigation into the internal processes of nature through physics gave the human race nuclear weapons in the modern era, even though Albert Einstein was a dreamer and an inspired mathematician. The modern feminist movements and their precursors, the suffragetes, have turned conscious awareness back towards Intuitive Knowing, the Power of Silence. As the genders seek to uphold their historical identities in a struggle that is not an actual battle, for if it were all human reproduction would stop, there is a blending of characteristics that allows modern men to access the subconscious and become predictive in dreams and waking awareness, whereas women can move into traditional male realms of power in the world and express themselves with often hidden Intuitive knowledge. The Tarot represent these aspects of the Immortal Self in Outside of Time as dualized gender projections in life. Allowing the significator card to 'pick itself' through randomized shufflings then results in women with male signifier cards and men with female signifier cards as their emotions and attitudes alter their psychic appearances in matter. I've read for a number of ladies who have many sword cards in their readings, and some of them were armored, mounted knights in feudal Europe. Have a nice day. --- DBSMail V2.00e [A808B798] * Origin: Afterlife 28.8 V.fc -alife.com- (916)488-9977 (93:9082/0) @PATH: 9082/0 9000/0 9004/0
