AURA MEANINGS When I perceive an aura, I get impressions depending on the colors I see...there are some basic traits I have learned to recognize and apply to all auras and these are: THE AURIC BODY The Auric Body is what I call the color(s) closest to your physical body. In the case of a long distance reading, I concentrate and focus on a human shape and then observe the color closest to that shape. This is the Auric Body. The Auric Body Color(s) usually indicate those characteristics and traits closest to the person; their karmic lessons, the spiritual choices they will and have made; their natural and innate skills; their basis fears and goals. In short, the color(s) of the Auric Body tells you exactly who the person really is, the face they never turn to the world. Normally, most people tend to have a thin white band around a secondary color. You will observe that the white band is the color closest to the physical body while the secondary color will comprise most of the Auric Body. This is because most of us keep our true selves deeply hidden and protected. Consider this thin white line the "Inner Child". THE THREE OUTER AURIC BANDS After the Auric Body I have found there are three separate "bands" or lines of color demarcation. It may take time to perceive them as being three separate and distinct sections because the colors sometimes blend and bleed one into the other, but I believe they are there. The best way I can think of to describe the Outer Auric Sections is to imagine a dot and then draw a circle around the dot, then a second circle around the first and a third circle around the second... with the dot in the middle. The dot represents the Auric Body and the three circles the Outer Auric Section. I have personally come to think of these Outer Auric Circles as: Past, Present and Future. The Past section is the one closest to the Auric Body, the Present is the section of color right after the Past and the Future section is normally the outer colors that tend to be wisps or a very thin, fine line of color at times barely perceptible. This is the technique that works best for me. THE PAST CIRCLE The Past are the colors that are closest to the Auric Body and represent the lessons, traumas, memories, disease, triumphs and victories of the person. Those things that are still very much a part of the person. As you observe the colors of the Past, look for those colors that stand out from the rest. Those are usually memories and issues that the person you are reading is still grappling with. The more vibrant the color, the more important it is for the person to come to terms with this. Lighter colors tend to indicate those lessons and issues that the person has internalized and has moved on about... unlike the more vibrant ones that are still pending and unresolved. THE PRESENT CIRCLE Like the Past, the Present will also give you a pretty good idea of what is happening in the person's life now. However, because the Present is mid way between the Past and the Future, acting as a bridge between both, you may see colors bleeding in from the Past and from the Future. These may appear as thin, spidery veins criss crossing the Present circle. Try to pinpoint the origin of this color thread....does it come from the Past? If so, then this is an issue that the person has not dealt with and consciously has buried and that is definitely affecting their current situation. If the color is originating in the Future (farthest away from the Auric Body) this may be an indication that the issues associated and characteristic of this color may be carried over from past lives and are still unresolved and thus still out there in the future of things... The colors of the Present Auric Circle are to be read a little more closely than the Past. Here is where decisions are made, judgments are called for, lessons are learned, joy and triumph, sorrow and loss is experienced, physical and emotional pain is recorded, and the experiences of the past as well as the characteristics of the Auric Body are expressed. Look for the subtle differences in colors, textures are important as well. Do you perceive more pastels than the more bright gem colors? Are the colors muted or deep? Are there metallic hues here and there? What about the texture of the colors? Are they flat, fluffy, grainy, smooth, satiny. Look at the colors themselves. Are they bright and clear or smoky and blurred? All of these mean something. THE FUTURE AURIC CIRCLE The Future Auric Circle is the band of colors or a single color which is usually seen as a thin, fine and wispy line of color at the very edge of the aura. It usually flares and peaks. Studying these thin, wispy lines, which are usually in a rainbow color pattern tells us a great deal about the aims and goals of the person. Those colors that tend to peak are areas of concern for the person and should be given special care and attention for they often symbolize issues that may be entering the person's life. DEFINITIONS AND ASSOCIATIONS What parameters do I use in interpreting colors, shapes, movement, textures? These are associations I have learned that seem natural and correct for me. As in all esoteric things, you must also explore what feels best and natural for you. Below are the parameters I personally employ: COLORS: White: Purity and virginity; usually found close to the Auric Body in young women and men who are still sexually inexperienced or have not yet conceived a child. It is the color of new beginnings, religious and spiritual humility. An auric "blank page" Black: Normally not found as a solid color, but more in splotchy dots here and there. Indicative of emotional, spiritual or physical illness. A completely black aura is normally seen in photos of those who have passed over. Should you see a black aura around a living person, please proceed with care. Never predict death....this is unethical. Blue: The color of the musician, the teacher, those who express self via the word, usually great speakers and orators. Peace and tranquility. Lovers of art and poetry. Avid readers. Endowed with expansive memories. Issues of justice and law are of deep concerns. Appeal to this person via the mind and logic. Green: The color of the Mother/Father archetype. Nurturing and loving; calm and reliable. Does best when close to nature. A romantic idealist. Tends to think more with the heart than the mind. Appeal to this person via the heart and the emotions. Red: A color of passion, movement and energy. Lust and love of life; vigor and health. A masculine color full of dreams and ideals, goals and ambition. These are the movers and shakers of society. The born leaders. Appeal to their sense of justice and right. Yellow: The healers and lovers. A color between red and orange, a sunny delightful disposition. Gentle and calm, energetic when needed, full of robust health and ideas. A thinker rather than a doer. Romantic and gentle, they retain memories of past loves for many years. Appeal to their sense of kindness and fair play. Orange: Career and goal oriented, these are the makers and creators. Self confidence, self pride and self-love. Energy and dedication to see a project through. Appeal to their sense of organization and success. Purple: The color of the spirit. Spirituality and philosophy. The mystics and seers. A connection to the Universe and the gods. A desire to evolve and grow. The least materialistic of the colors. TEXTURES: As you progress and become more comfortable with reading the colors, you will begin to notice that the actual Auric field also has textures....or at least something which I perceive to be texture. I have come to associate certain textures with specific characteristics...these also have worked well for me: SATIN/SILK: A satiny/silky texture will show up when you see that a color tend to have what look like "highlights" The color has a smooth look to it and combined with these highlights definitely look like a piece of satin fabric. Satiny textures tell me about the person....dreamy, romantic individuals. People who shun confrontations and tend to be more or less balanced in their approach to life. Persons who are also drawn to art, beauty, comfort and luxury. FLUFFY: Like a cotton, or cotton candy texture, fluffy textures to colors tend to look like fluffy clouds. An indication of a sunny disposition and one who is almost child-like (not childish) in their trust and outlook on life. Easy-going individuals sometimes being too carefree. FLAT: Flat textures do not reflect any sort of light in the color. Indication of superficiality, inability to attach emotionally to others. Loners, these are the loners. Hardworking and steady but with little imagination. Loyal and stalwart. GRAINY: Grainy textures often indicate some sort of deep emotional, physical or spiritual pain or discomfort. Often they are best described as "splotchy" colors that pop up here and there and look like little bumps or pimples. They are indeed the "pimples" of the Aura, and should be seen to as quickly as possible so that they do not fester and grow into unmanageable problems. Grainy auras tend to respond well to Reiki attunements. SMOOTH: The most common of the textures, the smooth current of color, bleeding into the three bands, forming rivulets of colors. A well balanced outlook on life. Creative, problem solving capabilities, mature, reliable. SHAPES: * Bumpy shapes tend to indicate physical, emotional or spiritual pain. * Thin veins of colors or single color tend to indicate a situation not yet in the person's life (if in the Future) or an issue that the person is attempting to bury or ignore. * Colors that stand out above the rest indicate issues that are very much on the person's mind. * Colors that fade in and out as you observer are characteristics that are coming into the person's personality or lessons being learned which have not yet fully developed. * Peaking colors (wisps and peaks like little flames) on the tips of the Future Auric Band indicate issues, characteristics which are not yet part of the person's life experience and may very well be. DEEP COLORS: Sensual deep colors, usually found only the "gem colors" such as emerald, sapphire blue, ruby red, hunter green or jade, amethyst, topaz, etc are indicative of a person who is also highly sensual, woodsy and adventuresome; young at heart and spirit. An ancient one who has returned to teach. This is rare but it is out there. PASTEL COLORS: Gentle loving creatures who are more at home with the animals of the World than with fellow humans. One must be gentle and careful with these people who have such auras as they are usually naÔve and innocents. Their symbol is usually a flower. Make magnificent friends and once you meet a person with pastel colored auras you will never forget them. METALLIC COLORS: Metallic colors for me tell me one of two things: I am dealing with someone who may be ill or at least taking some sort of medication, or therapy; the secondary association is someone who is highly evolved and is aspecting the God (gold) or the Goddess (silver) Take a good look at the other colors and how these speak to you in order to determine which of the two associations you will go with. FINAL COMMENT This is as much as I know and employ when reading an aura. As I said at the beginning of this article, this is a system I personally have devised and used for many years. It may work for your, or it may not. Or you may find portions that you can adapt to your own personal system. Whatever technique you settle on, make sure you keep good records so that you can go back and see for yourself where the patterns are emerging. This is how you develop your own personal style for reading auras. Good luck! Bry © 2002 B. FairRaven. All rights reserved.
