A DEDICATION

This is taken mainly from Scott Cunninghams "Wicca" as I thought it was good.

This is done as a 2 part dedication although I intend to do both on the one 
day. I chose this because I feel that paganism isn't a Sabbat religion only 
but they are important also I am not dedicating myself to any particular path 
ATM because I haven't decided on one 100% and I think this covers
at least the two major ones I am considering. They are both simple as that is 
the way I like it and is the way I have always thought religion should be.

The first is done outdoors in the bush during the day. It  celebrates the 
God and Goddess in nature with the God as the primary. It is also done with 
no tools to remind us that worship can be and should be done anywhere anytime. 
This should also be done privately.
The second is done at night, I will do it on a full moon. With the Goddess 
as the primary. This is done in a circle as a reference to the Sabbats and 
the temple of the God and Goddess. I chose this as my first attempt at 
casting a circle so hopefully it will be extra special :). 
This can be done privately or with a group of friends.

PART ONE
1. Start the day with a purification bath. Take with you Sandalwood oil.
Find an ideal place in the bush, preferably one with a lake and on a mountain.
Once there "seek" the place that "feels" right
and lie down. Breathe deeply to feel the earth and let the power flow through 
you.

Once ready say this prayer.
          God of the sun and earth
          Here under your glory,
          I open myself to you
          I acknowledge your Being in me
          and thank you for your gifts.
Draw the God symbol on your chest using the oil and feel it sinking into your 
body.

When ready say
          Goddess of the earth
          Here amongst your splendour,
          I open myself to you
          I acknowledge your Being in me
          and thank you for your gifts.
Draw the Goddess symbol on your chest using the oil and feel it sinking into 
your body.

When ready say
          From now on I dedicate myself to you
          and the path of wisdom.
Draw friendship symbol on forehead using the oil and feel it sinking in.

Rest and relax and enjoy the experience.

PART TWO
The normal tools and ritual as per your method of creating a circle
although I will attempt to modify one to suit the occasion. A
dedication incense to burn during the ceremony is also required.
The incense I will create for this will contain tea tree, eucalyptus, vervain, 
lemon balm bay, sandalwood and copal.
Also take some food and drink into the circle for after.

Once ready to begin the actual dedication start burning the
          incense and say Goddess of the moon and beginnings Here
          in the glow of your splendour Bless this new beginning
          As I continue on the path of wisdom.
Pause and feel the moonshine soak into you.

When ready add more incense and say
          God of death and rebirth
          Bless this rebirth of myself
          As I continue on the path of wisdom.
Pause for a while.

When ready eat and drink while still in the circle and have a little party. :)

Then close the circle as per normal.
