Triskellion Ritual Triskellion's Native American-Based Imbolc Ritual This one requires a bit of explanation. Rosario Holsen-Baker is the new co-HPS for the coven Triskellion. (She's taking over from Anne Cross.) Normally, we base our scripts entirely on Celtic ceremonies, loosely adapted. Rosario, who has done quite a bit of N.A.-based stuff in other venues, wrote this as her "tryout" script. She tried to write an amalgam of N.A., Celtic, and even some Christian Mass stuff. So far, it's unique for us. So, here is the 1995 Imbolc ceremony. Cast: Quarter wardens, others All form a circle, turn to the east and say: I see Grandfather sitting in the East. He is sacred, he is looking at us. I pray to him, pray to him He is sacred, he is looking at us. Turn to the South and all say: I see Grandfather sitting in the South. He is sacred, he is looking at us. I pray to him, pray to him He is sacred, he is looking at us. Repeat three times more, substituting "west", "north", and "sky" for "east." At "sky", all look at sky. Finally, sit or kneel and, placing one hand on the earth, all say: I see Grandmother sitting in the Earth She is sacred, she is looking at us. I pray to her, pray to her She is sacred, she is looking at us. As each warden says their piece, they place flowers on the alter/in the center of the circle. East: Lady and Lord, we thank you for the start of life anew, after the time of resting. All: Thanks be to the Lady and Lord of Light. South: Lady and Lord, we thank you for the ending of the old and the creation of the new. All: Thanks be to the Lady and Lord of Time. West: Lady and Lord, we ask you for the turning of the season. All: Light to darkness, darkness to light North: Lady and Lord, we ask you for a fruitful planting of this turning's new seeds. All: Light to darkness, darkness to light. The East Side (led by East Lord): She shines for all, she burns for all, she is in all, so shall it be! The North Side (led by North Lord): The wheel turns, the old burns, the young returns, so shall it be! The West Side (led by West Lord): A new dawn, a new time, the sun rises, so shall it be! The South Side (led by South Lord): Renewal comes, the earth is young, a new time dawns, so shall it be! The simple feast takes place, with random people saying the following things as they pass the cakes and wine along the circle. Person 1: Now is the time to give thanks for that which sustains us. Person 2: Eat, drink, and be happy. Share and be thankful. Both: Let us partake of this food freely and rejoice in the sharing. Once the food and wine has been passed around: Let the winter be ended, and let the spring come again to the earth. All: The Circle is open, but never broken. Merry meet, and merry part, and merry meet again.
