SUPERSTITIONS




The unruly hair of witches was thought to control the weather. Hurricanes, wind
storms, rain, or hail could be unleashed by a woman allowing her hair to fall 
wild.

Thunderstorms occurred solely because somewhere a woman was combing out her 
hair.

Bury a snippet of hair from a menstruating witch and it will turn into a snake.

The tradition of women covering their hair in church originated from Corinthians 
11:10 where Saint Paul warns that good Christian women should cover their heads 
because demons leap like sparks from female hair and enter the world to do 
mischief.

The Aztecs believed that a god would appear from afar and be recognized by his                  
blond hair.  (Cortez profited from this one).

A medieval knight riding into battle wore a lock of his Lady's pubic hair to 
help keep him brave.
